How to cook beef snout

Snout needs a long simmer to soften, then takes on whatever spice you give it.

Boil: rinse, then simmer in seasoned water with onion and stock cube for 1½–2 hours until tender.

Pressure cooker: 35–45 minutes, then finish in your sauce.

Peppered snout: boil until tender, slice, then toss in a hot pepper and onion sauce.

Tip: ask for it cut into pieces at checkout if you want it ready for the pot.
