Questions people ask about our whole animal

Is a whole lamb from Ikhlas HMC certified?

Yes. Whole and half animals are HMC-certified halal, hand slaughtered and monitored by the Halal Monitoring Committee, with the same certificate that covers our counter.

How is a whole lamb cut?

However you ask. The usual options are: chops, shoulder, leg and mince; all curry cut; or a mix. Tell us your cutting list when you order and it comes back packed and labelled by cut.

How much meat does a whole lamb give?

A whole lamb of 18 to 22kg carcass weight gives roughly 12 to 15kg of usable meat once bone and trim are accounted for, depending on how it is cut.

Can I book a Qurbani lamb or sheep?

Yes. We take Qurbani bookings for lamb and sheep with a deposit, and the animal is slaughtered on the Eid day you choose. See our Qurbani guide for dates and how it works.
