Keep refrigerated at 0–4°C and use within the date on the label, or freeze on the day of delivery. Defrost thoroughly in the fridge before cooking and cook until piping hot throughout. Keep raw meat separate from ready-to-eat food.

Why we stock it

How to use it
The sauce is already cooked, so the only real job is getting colour on the meat before it goes in.
Brown the meat: hard, in a little oil, so it colours rather than stews.
Pour it in: one jar to roughly half a kilo of meat, then bring it up to a simmer.
Finish: 20 minutes for chicken, longer for lamb or mutton on the bone.
Tip: a knob of butter stirred in at the very end is what takes it from good to restaurant. It is called makhani for a reason.
Goes well with
Chicken breast fillets, diced breast fillets or boneless diced leg.
