The same tandoori rub pulled back, all of the aroma, much less of the heat. Made in Bradford by Mumtaz and stocked at our City Road counter, so it comes in the same bag as your meat.

Why we stock it
- Made in Bradford: blended by Mumtaz in the same city as the shop.
- One pack, one dish: the whole spice mix for the dish is in the packet, no building a masala from eight jars.
- Consistent: the same result every time, which is hard to manage grinding your own.
- Halal throughout: suitable for a halal kitchen.
- Comes with the meat: add it to a counter order and it goes in the same bag.
How to use it
Identical method to the hot version. The only difference is how much chilli is in it.
Dry the meat: pat it dry so the rub grips rather than slides.
Rub and rest: work it in, then uncovered in the fridge for 2–4 hours.
Cook hot: grill, barbecue or the top of a very hot oven.
Tip: this is the one to use on a whole bird. A slow roast gives the mild rub time to bloom without the heat building up.
Goes well with
A whole chicken, chicken drumsticks, turkey drumsticks or baby chicken.
Ingredients & allergens
The full ingredient list and allergen declaration are printed on the pack. Recipes are set by Mumtaz and can change, so please read the label on the jar or tub you receive rather than relying on this page. Contact us before ordering if you have a specific allergy and we will check the current pack for you.
Keep in a cool, dry cupboard out of direct sunlight. Reseal the pack after each use and use by the date printed on it.

Mild enough for children. It is aromatic rather than hot. You get the tandoori flavour without the chilli.
Can I mix the two?
Yes. Half and half is a good middle setting if the table is split.
Is it halal?
Yes. Mumtaz is a halal food producer and the whole range is suitable for a halal kitchen.
Where is it made?
Bradford. Mumtaz have produced from the city for over forty years, which is why we stock them alongside our own counter.
