Halal Whole Lamb Leg

A whole bone-in leg of lamb, approximately 2.5kg, prepared to order at our City Road shop. This is the centrepiece cut, the one that goes in the oven on a Sunday, at Eid, or when the family is coming. Roast it on the bone for the flavour, carve it at the table.

Sold as a single whole leg. If you want it prepared differently, boned and rolled, butterflied, or cut down, tell us in the order notes or ring the shop and we will do it before it is packed, at no extra charge.

Whole leg or curry cut?

This listing is the leg left whole for roasting. If you want the same leg chopped for curry, salan or karahi, that is Halal Lamb Leg Curry Cut, sold by the 500g, bone in or boneless.

How to roast a leg of lamb

Pink: 200°C for 20 minutes, then 180°C for 15 minutes per 500g.

Falling apart: cover and cook at 150°C for 4 hours, uncovering for the last 20 minutes.

Tip: rest it for 20 minutes under foil before carving. Cut slits and push in garlic and green chilli before it goes in.
