Free halal meat delivery in Bradford: the 7-mile zone, two runs a day, and how it works
Ikhlas Halal ButcherIkhlas Halal Butcher delivers fresh HMC certified halal meat free within 7 miles of our City Road shop in Bradford, with a £25 minimum order. Our own driver goes out twice a day, Monday to Saturday: 1pm to 4pm for orders placed by 12, and 6pm to 8pm for orders placed by 5. The meat is cut to your order after it comes in, vacuum packed and sent chilled the same day, at the same price as the counter.
Why we made delivery free
When we launched the website, local delivery was charged like a courier. It was honest, but it was the wrong model. A courier charge makes sense when a parcel travels 200 miles in a box. Our driver goes four miles to Heaton with a bag of curry cut and a whole chicken, and then four miles to Girlington with the next one. Charging for that was putting a fee between a customer and a butcher they can see from the top of the road.
So it is free now, within 7 miles, with a £25 minimum so the runs stay worth doing. £25 is a normal weekly shop for a family: a couple of kilos of chicken, a kilo of lamb mince and some curry cut mutton gets you there. Collection stays free with no minimum at all.
The 7-mile zone: where we deliver
The zone is a straight 7-mile circle drawn from the shop at 26-28 City Road, BD8 8ER. That takes in the whole of Bradford and a good way past it. We have written a short page for each of the main areas, with the route from the shop and how long the driver takes:
Manningham, Heaton, Frizinghall, Girlington, Allerton, Shipley, Saltaire, Baildon, Bingley, Thornton, Queensbury, Clayton, Great Horton, Idle, Eccleshill, Wibsey, Pudsey, Halifax.
Because it is a circle and not a list of postcodes, places you might not expect are inside it: Cleckheaton, Brighouse, Guiseley, Wilsden and Denholme all qualify. If you are not sure, put your postcode in on the basket page, or ring 07479 462297. Further than 7 miles and we cannot deliver yet; collection from the shop is free, and a big Eid order or a whole lamb is usually easier to collect anyway.
Two runs a day, and the cut-off times
| Order by | Delivered | Days |
|---|---|---|
| 12 noon | 1pm to 4pm the same day | Monday to Saturday |
| 5pm | 6pm to 8pm the same day | Monday to Saturday |
| After 5pm | The next day's afternoon run, or the evening run if you prefer | Next working day; no Sunday runs |
The afternoon run suits people at home in the day and anyone cooking that evening. The evening run suits people home from work, which is why it goes until 8pm. On the basket page you pick a day and a run, the checkout confirms it, and we text or email when the driver sets off. Please have someone in; the driver does not leave meat on a step.
What arrives at your door
Your order is cut after you place it, by the same butchers who serve the counter, to the options and notes you gave. It is weighed, vacuum sealed so nothing leaks in the bag, labelled with the cut and the weight, and held in the chiller until the van leaves. It travels chilled and is handed over at the door. Because meat is cut by hand, a 500g pack will normally land between 480g and 550g, and we round in your favour. Weights include the bone where the cut has bone.
When it arrives, put it straight in the fridge. Whole cuts keep three to five days at 5°C or below; mince, curry cut and chicken are best within two. Anything you will not cook in that time, freeze on the day. There is a longer guide on how long fresh meat keeps.
How this compares with a halal meat delivery service
| Ikhlas local delivery | Online halal supermarket by courier | |
|---|---|---|
| Who brings it | Our own driver, from the shop | A national courier, from a warehouse |
| When | Same day, two runs, you pick the window | Next day or later, a delivery slot |
| When it was cut | After you ordered, the same day | Before it was packed for dispatch |
| Cut to your instruction | Yes, with a note on every line | Fixed packs |
| Price | Counter price, no delivery charge, £25 minimum | Varies; delivery is often charged below a threshold |
| Halal assurance | HMC certified, certificate on the shop door | Check the certifier on each listing |
| Range | Within 7 miles of BD8 8ER | National |
If you live in Leeds or Manchester, the courier model is the one that reaches you. If you live in Bradford, we think a butcher round the corner cutting it today is the better deal.
The bits you can check
All our meat is certified and monitored by the Halal Monitoring Committee; the certificate is on the door and the shop is on the HMC website. Our food hygiene rating is 5, the top band, awarded by Bradford Council and published on the Food Standards Agency register. We are rated 4.8 out of 5 on Google from more than 70 reviews. Delivery does not change any of that: the meat that goes in the van is the meat in the counter chiller.

Questions people also ask
Is halal meat delivery in Bradford really free?
Yes, within 7 miles of Ikhlas Halal Butcher at 26-28 City Road, BD8 8ER, with a £25 minimum order. There is no delivery charge and no online premium; the prices are the counter prices. Collection from the shop is free with no minimum.
Which areas do you deliver to?
A 7-mile circle around City Road: Manningham, Heaton, Frizinghall, Girlington, Allerton, Shipley, Saltaire, Baildon, Bingley, Thornton, Queensbury, Clayton, Great Horton, Idle, Eccleshill, Wibsey, Pudsey and Halifax, and everywhere in between including Cleckheaton, Brighouse, Guiseley, Wilsden and Denholme. The basket page checks your postcode.
What time will my meat arrive?
Two runs a day, Monday to Saturday: 1pm to 4pm if you order by 12, and 6pm to 8pm if you order by 5. Anything later goes out the next day. We text or email when the driver is on the way.
Is it same day delivery?
Usually, yes. An order placed before midday is delivered that afternoon; an order placed before 5pm is delivered that evening. Orders after 5pm go on the next day's first run.
How is the meat packed for delivery?
It is cut after you order, weighed, vacuum sealed, labelled and kept in the chiller until the van leaves. It travels chilled and is handed to you at the door. Refrigerate it as soon as it arrives and use within three days, or freeze it the day you get it.
What if nobody is in?
Fresh meat is not left on a doorstep. The driver rings the number on the order; if nobody answers, it comes back to the shop chilled and we arrange the next run with you. Please make sure someone is home for the window you chose.
Do you use a courier?
No. Deliveries are made by our own driver in our own van, from the shop, the day the meat is cut. Nothing is posted and nothing goes through DPD, Royal Mail or a third party.
Can I order for delivery by WhatsApp instead?
Yes. Message 07479 462297 with what you want and how you want it cut, and your address. We check you are inside the zone, put the order together and take payment. The website is quicker for a standard order; WhatsApp is handy for an unusual one.
